Day 84

A side view or my progress

rafter, roof stringer, Roof gusset, roof stringer (from a 2x4, I cut maybe 5 out of pine, that extended all the way to the bottom of the cabin trunk, but all of them split with screws in countersunk and drilled holes) also a 1x2 that was attached for the bulkhead hatch.

Rafters with stringers attached, they are the same 23deg. stringers used on the rest of the boat except for a few up at the front were cut to shape.

Another view

the roof, as you maybe able to see it was painted, when the roof was dry fitted the borders where marked with pencil and when it was taken off the area to be glued was masked with masking tape. the underside was painted with beige exterior paint.

The roof was attached with glue and screws

The roof at the trunk joint, the corners were sanded, the overhang will remain unless I decide otherwise.

Looking back

Did some varnishing on some of the parts I will finish bright

The mahogany rudder is to my father's Sunfish that we got from our neighbors.
