 —About the demutualization (process of turning from a coopperative organization to a shareholder-based corporation) of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and its future. The PHLX was bought by NASDAQ a month-and-a-half after I wrote this.
The Bank of Japan - June 2007
 —A history of central banking in Japan.  The transition of Japan from feudal autarchy to an imperialist power required a central bank.  The history of the Yen from it's creation with the New Currency Act in 1871 to the dissolution of the Bretton Woods Agreement in 1971; from its balance-of-payment crisis in 1890 due to the escalating price of silver in America to the Japanese real estate bubble-burst in 1990.
EU citizenship is fostering a European sense of identity - Winter 2007
 —A new generation of Europeans, many of whom were still children at the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, identify as being European first and a national of their own country second—I would be interested in updating this paper to see how things have changed since 2008. I would imagine that as countries' economic stituations diverged, for example, Greece and Germany, that a common sense of identity diminished.
